Creating a family of brands for a growing business
Office Friends are an independent office supplies and furniture supplier with offices throughout Lincolnshire. The company first worked with Kinetic in 2010 when we were asked to produce a new corporate identity which included a sub brand for their furniture division.
A flexible logo
A simple logo was created using fresh, contemporary colours that took the ‘O’ from the Office Friends name but also made reference to the shape of a person sitting at a desk as viewed from above.
One of the criteria for the logo development was the ability for the logo to be easily adapted for sub brands for specific ranges and sectors. Over the years as new services have been launched , such as IT and the group grown through acquisition of other companies, the branded has stood the test of time and been able to ‘flex’ with these changes.
When a competitor business was purchased, Fovia, although the name was kept, the branding was changed to the Office Friends brand style in order to bring the company into the group whilst retaining the loyalty it had from existing customers.
Creating a distinctive brand look
In addition to the logo development, Kinetic also created a brand look for marketing materials around the theme ‘We Do’. This gave another creative element to the materials in an industry that doesn’t always have exciting imagery to work with (stationery items, for example).
The use of squared-up, graphic blocks also allowed for consistency when there was likely to a range of styles of imagery as product images are supplied by many different manufacturers and suppliers.
